YoUthtopia is evening of entertainment by professional, independent, under 21, Alberta based artists. It provides a opportunity for young artists to perform on stage and an opportunity for the public to hear incredibly talented musicians, singers and songwriters.
YoUthtopia helps support young artists. Tickets are only $15 and can be purchased from the artists. Tickets are also available from all our regular ticket sources and the proceeds from the concert are split between all the performing artists and a local charity. For this performance there will be no $5 youth tickets available.
Our first YoUthtopia was held in May 2010 at the Bragg Creek Festival. This will be the 4th YoUthtopia.

If you haven't had the privilege to see and hear Sarah Troy live, here is your opportunity. This young contemporary/jazz/blues
singer songwriter is causing quite a stir in the Alberta music scene. Sarah is the creator of YoUthtopia and is proud to be
hosting and performing for its fourth year. She is currently studying full time on scholarship at Berklee College of Music
in Boston. In 2012 Sarah was awarded a Calgary Youth of Distinction award in the Arts and Culture Category.
Over her performance years Sarah has opened for Juno and Genie award winner Ron Sexsmith, singer/songwriter Barney Bentall and legendary Canadian folk singer/songwriter Connie Caldor. Over the past couple of years Sarah has had the honour of performing live at The Canmore Folk Fest, YoUthtopia, The Ironwood Stage in Calgary, Canadian Music Week in Toronto, Edmonton's Expressionz Cafe, Vancouver's Cafe Deux Soleil, New York City's The Bitter End, etc all supporting the release of her fourth independent recording, "A Dozen Hearts". Sarah is currently in studio again and will be releasing her new EP at YoUthtopia!

Trevor McNeely is an ambitious singer/songwriter out of Edmonton, Alberta who has been deeply influenced by folk
and rock music. Artists such as Neil Young, Great Lake Swimmers, Ray LaMontagne and Amos Lee are of his most
influential. McNeely releases an EP entitled "We Thought it was Over", and a single "Coming Clean". Not only does he write,
but he does a lot of collaboration work with other artists and does backing instrumentation as well. He has played at
several notable music festivals as a solo and/or backing artist such as the Brandon Folk Music and Arts Festival,
Canmore Folk Music Festival and the Edmonton Folk Music Festival.
Cole Hruska is a talented 15 year old singer/songwriter and guitar player from Calgary, Alberta. His music is fun,
upbeat and full of life, very much like Cole himself. At 10 years old, Cole picked up a guitar and has been writing
his own acoustic pop songs and sharing his musical passion with everyone he meets.
His musical resume is already impressive having released his first EP of original music in April 2012. For the past 6 months, he has been recording songs for his follow up CD in Calgary, Vancouver, B.C. and Nashville, Tennessee which he expects to debut in May 2013. He got his musical start performing with Calgary’s renowned Young Canadians; he has starred in musical theatre including his role of Finn in his high school musical “Glee” in fall of 2012, and showcased his vocal talents in numerous competitions like the Calgary Stampede Talent search and as a finalist in Calgary Junior Idol. In July 2012, Cole won “The Fan Favorite Award” at the Calgary Stampede Talent Search.
A highlight of 2012 for Cole was performing in YoUthopia at the Bragg Creek Performing Arts Centre and he is very excited to be doing it again in 2013.
16 year old Kayla Patrick is a talented young singer/songwriter and recording artist.
She has a soulful yet powerful voice that astounds and amazes her audiences.
Performing since the age of 7 she has had many successes and has won several vocal talent shows throughout the years. She has written over 60 original songs some of which you will hear at YoUthtopia.
Last June Kayla had the opportunity to fly to Toronto where she made Top 3 of the Much Music Coke Covers Contest out of 1300 hundred entries and was she was featured in her own commercial. She walked the red Carpet at the MMVA’s and got to mingle with the stars at the after party. It was the most amazing experience of “2012”.
She also released her 2nd Cd titled “I’m Your Biggest Fan which will be available at the show.
NEK Trio is Ross Nicoll, Connor Ellinger and Dean Kheroufi. N3K combines hip hop, jazz and electronic music to
create a unique sound. They recorded their EP, Walloctopus, which is available online for free last May that includes
originals, arrangements of Nirvana tunes and an improvised jam over a Chritopher Walken monologue. NEK Trio is preparing
